Exercise

Cats may lie quietly for a large part of the day sleeping or washing but periodically they will wake up and seem to go crazy. Cats need plenty of exercise, so make sure that your cat has plenty of toys to play with and keep her busy. This is particularly true for house cats who never go outside! She needs to have small light balls to run after and exercise her legs, she needs something she can practice pouncing on such as a toy material mouse, it has been discovered that a cat needs to pounce a specific number of times a day to keep their body in perfect shape.

Something on a string which she can jump up to catch is good, but string and ribbon on their own are frowned on as the cat may eat them and block up her insides with them.

Make sure she also has a scratching post to sharpen her claws on (and help avoid your furniture) and mark her territory. Training your cat can help keep her fit and free from boredom. Although using food as the reward can also cause increase in weight so incorporate the training into your daily routine and as part of your feeding method!
